Geraniums
are very easy to grow. One of the great things about them is
that they can get away without too much water. I recommend watering
twice during the first week just to help them overcome any transplant
shock. After that, one good watering every 10 days will get
them by. Of course in really hot weather a water early or late
in the day would be appreciated. Overwatering is bad, as it
can cause fungal problems. I recommend Debco Saturaid
to save water. When flowering - do not wet flowers when watering
and they will last much longer. Even try and keep the leaves
dry and it will help to prevent disease.
To
keep your plants healthy, cut off dead flowers to stop them
rotting. This will also promote more flowers. Also cut off any
leaves that look marked. If it did happen to be a disease, this
may stop its spread. Do not over feed geraniums or you can
cause them to wilt. Feed monthly or when they start to look a little
pale green in the leaves. I recommend phostrogen mixed up in the watering can and watered on. |
